The Second European Workshop on Monte Carlo Treatment Planning is being organised and supported by: EWG-MCTP The European Work Group on Monte Carlo Treatment Planning was founded in 2005 and promoted the first European Meeting on Monte Carlo Treatment Planning held in Gent (Belgium) in October 2006. Velindre NHS Trust Velindre NHS Trust was established on 1st April 1994 and has steadily grown to manage a budget of over £150M in 2006/07 and to provide a range of specialist services at local, regional and all Wales levels. The Trust comprises of a variety of Divisions who specialise in services as diverse as caring for cancer patients in Velindre Hospital to managing the Digital All Wales Network for NHS Wales from Health Solutions Wales. Velindre Cancer Centre is a division of Velindre NHS Trust and provides specialist cancer services to 1.5 million people living in South East Wales. Velindre is one of the 10 largest cancer centres in the UK and has strong research partnerships with Cardiff University and Cancer Research Wales. Cardiff University Founded in 1883, Cardiff University is a dynamic and successful centre of higher education with an international reputation for high quality teaching and research. Research at Cardiff pushes back the frontiers of knowledge and understanding and is applied to produce real benefits, locally and worldwide. Cardiff is also a member of the Russell Group of Britain's foremost research intensive universities. The Cardiff School of Engineering is recognised as one of the best schools in the UK in terms of its facilities, research and teaching and is actively involved in the organisation of MCTP2009. Cancer Research Wales Cancer Research Wales was founded in 1966 and since then its achievements for cancer research have been considerable, with over £3 million being raised over the past few years. Cancer Research Wales guarantees all money raised is spent in Wales funding pioneering cancer research projects.
